Supporting indies in a sustainable way is a common theme of 2016 and Saffron Records are on a mission. That mission: build a community to make the music industry more diverse, one empowered woman at a time!
Multi-genre label, Saffron Records, is the first all female youth-focussed record label, which is kind of a big deal especially seeing as they are responsible offering a multi-faceted approach to the modern music biz. Creative Director, Laura Lewis-Paul established Saffron Records in 2015 as part of the Princes Trust Enterprise Scheme as a Social Enterprise and Community Interest Company. The female youth record label that offers three strands of work:
Laura and her team focus on 4 areas falling under the umbrella of empowering women through creative and social change, shining a spotlight on these areas by creating a diverse work environment, amplifying young women’s voices, increasing female representation in electronic and hip hop genres, and building a community of musicians.
They’re doing great things and to keep the projects running full steam ahead, Saffron Records have a few tricks up their sleeve. Namely, their Indiegogo campaign offering a bunch of really cool incentives to support this wicked label in a totally sustainable way. These are our faves…
Support the label in a sustainable way and go see Three Trapped Tigers at Colston Hall on the 2nd May 2016.
